| LATERAL THINKING Definitions: i. (especially British English) A way of solving problems by using your imagination to find new ways of looking at the problem. ii. A method of solving problems by using your imagination to help you think of solutions that are not obvious at first. iii. Problem-solving technique involving the by-passing of disconcerting details, obstacles, or changing approach, sometimes reformulating the problem, said to be characteristic of divergers.
