| LAME DUCK (1) Definitions: i. A person or an organization that is not very successful and that needs help. ii. (disapproving) If you describe someone or something as a lame duck, you are critical of them because they are not successful and need to be helped a lot. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Will request for help. Or won't turn down an offer of a help. 2. Cause or causes for lameness is/are known or can be found out - laziness, incompetence, inability, lack or guidance, etc. 3. Nature, feature, structure, management, policy, idea, etc. will be tinkered with before actual help is delivered. (To emphasize.) 4. What will be given as help will be of the right quality, in the right quantity and delivered timely, as will be jointly discussed and mutually agreed. 5. Will be guided or monitored, by benefactor or his/her/its nominated representative(s), for a considerable period of time after receiving help (= funds, materials, advice, support, etc.) 6. Will be able to make use of assistance or aid (= help) that will be secured or obtained. That is, recipient of help will be able to survive on their own afterwards.
