| AVANT-GARDE (1) Definitions: i. (usually - the avant-garde) (from French) New and very modern ideas in art, music or literature that are sometimes surprising or shocking. ii. Art, music, theatre, and literature that is very modern and experimental. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for the 'producers' (= artists, musicians, artistes and writers) of materials. 2. Works produced or the works of art are not yet widely publicized or fully in the public domain. 3. Quality will not be conclusive about the suitability, convenience, capability, etc. of the new and experimental thing. 4. Not cheap or risk-free. That is, the use, application, treatment, handling, etc. will involve considerable amount of resources and time, and needing some skill or intelligence to fully grasp thing. 5. Not condemnable or open to unfounded criticism, even if susceptible to bias and discouragement. And it will be possible for thing to be transformed, later improved or further developed. 6. Not awkward or strange to behold, complex or hard to handle, intractable or difficult to understand. 7. Not unprofitable.
