| INVIGILATOR Definition: A person whose job is to watch people while they are taking an exam to make sure that they have everything they need, that they keep to the rules, etc. ______________________________________________________________________ * All thirteen elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary (to emphasize, see definition). 2. Officially designated or selected/appointed to conduct invigilation. 3. Person reads the rules guiding the examination to the participants before the commencement of the exam. __________________ 4. Person has his or her faculties working fully, especially the senses of sight, hearing, smell, etc. 5. Person is equipped/kitted appropriately to provide what may be needed and/or to communicate in an emergency. __________________ 6. Person has adequate physical protection close by. That is, invigilator has security within the exam hall or nearby/outside. 7. Person does not condone or tolerate any minor misdemeanour. And does not perpetrate any wrongdoing on his or her own (connect to #3). __________________ 8. Person does not have the solutions or answers to the exam questions on his or her person, inside the exam hall/centre. 9. Person does not extend the allotted time for the exams. That is, watch or clock or timepiece in use by this person is in excellent working order! __________________ 10. Does not stay close to any candidate for an unnecessarily long duration during the examination (to emphasize). 11. Person has a presence of mind during the period (connect to #10). __________________ 12. Person is physically present, inside the exam hall/centre, throughout the period that exam is being written.
