| INTEGRATION (2) Definition: The act or process of mixing people who have previously been separated, usually because of culture, race, religion, etc. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for the people concerned. 2. Not forced by the instrument of law or law-enforcement. 3. Not rushed as a result of the exigencies of a situation. 4. Clearly states, very informally, the roles and responsibilities that will be expected of persons in new situation. 5. Accommodates all current traditions, skin colours, professions, etc., with modifications, where required, promoting cooperation and collaboration ..., not exclusions. 6. Includes assimilation, harmonization, orientation, intermarriages, etc. ..., not ostracism or suppression. That is, act will be genuine. 7. Promotes and encourages equality, fairness, unity, etc., ... not discrimination or affectations. And establishes connections and links ..., not create and/or support retrogressive divisions and destabilizing separation. 8. Does not have structures that are blatantly divisive, such as restricted areas, policies targeted at special group(s), etc. 9.
