| INITIATIVE (2) Definition: The ability to decide and act on your own without waiting for somebody to tell you what to do. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and considered a necessity by you - only out of your personal conviction. 2. A source of direction, advice, instruction, etc. is available and could have been sought and used. 3. Reasonable thought is applied before decision is taken. That is, appropriate consideration was made to arrive at a conclusion to proceed and act. In other words, no real fears, misgivings, indecisiveness, etc. occurs before 'plunge' is taken. 4. No exertion of a subtle external pressure and no unreasonable hurry is involved in taking decision to act. 5. Use of ability will not be considered as an infraction. That is, there will be no rule, regulation or law, etc., stating what particular steps must be taken before acting. 6. Decision to act or not to act will be taken timely; never dormant. 7. No unplanned loss will be suffered as a consequence of decision, even though this can only be known later. That is, outcome or result will be beneficial and positive in the end. 8. Ability (= decision) can be defended or explained. And no sanction recrimination, etc. will be suffered as a result of self-confidence. 9.
