| INDUSTRIALIZATION Definition: The establishment of industries in a country or an area. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Products from industries will be useful and relevant. That is, there will be a market for goods produced/manufactured. 3. The numbers of industries that are established will be adequate to have the desired effect (connect to #5). 4. Location(s) of new industries will be in the appropriate clusters or industrial areas (to emphasize). 5. Impact desired will be attained from the industries set up. That is, trade and investment, employment, balance of trade, GDP, etc. will be positively affected from creation. In other words, the industries will be the right types needed by the country or area. 6. Regulation and monitoring activities will be put in place by the relevant authority or authorities, before establishment, during construction and while industries are in operation. 7. High productivity is or will be guaranteed. That is, industrial relations will be excellent and industrial actions minimal. In other words, infrastructures and economic or business environment will support the established industries, ensuring that the lifespan of endeavour is long-lasting. 8.
