Definition: A situation of deliberately not saying something in a clear and obvious way.

* All six elements would be in.


1. Purposeful, for who is being indirect (to emphasize).

2. Considered a necessity to be obscurantist (connect to #1). That is, there will be a reason or justification for being not direct.

3. The message meant to be passed on will still be delivered by the method of delivery adopted. That is, 'everything' will be said.

4. No loss or disadvantage will occur to who causes 'distortion'.

5. Message will be decoded. That is, what is being camouflaged will still be unveiled by hearers/listeners. (To emphasize.)

6. Being indirect will achieve goal(s), as exactly hoped for, whatever the reaction, response, dispute, fightback, etc. that may arise or result therefrom.
