IMPULSE BUYING

Definition: Buying goods without planning to do so in advance, and without thinking about it carefully.
______________________________________________________________________

* All six elements would be in.

1. Purposeful and necessary - the 'purchase', not the thoughtlessness and/or 'carelessness'.

2. A shopping list - even if unwritten - was discarded while purchases were being made.

3. Goods will be used or can be useful. That is, the buys were not completely useless items.

4. Some losses will arise from expenditure, by way of the absence of the other more useful goods that would have been bought if there was advance planning and forethought.

5. A lesson will be learned after the purchase. And next time, the seeming mistake will not be repeated. That is, some regret will arise from the 'mismanagement'.

6. There will not be a financial problem such as bankruptcy as a direct result of carefree spending.
