| IMPRISONMENT Definition: The situation of somebody being put in a prison or another place from which they cannot escape. ______________________________________________________________________ * All ten elements should be in. 1. Purposeful, even if considered as unnecessary by some others. 2. Legal and/or authorized. That is, trial was faultless and appeal, if applicable, has been concluded. Or the allegation or accusation on the basis of detention can be proved. In other words, person is truly guilty or deserving of restriction. 3. Person inside prison or in place is the real culprit. 4. Stay in prison or place is as stated in the ruling or as rightly decided - with hard labour, electronic tagging, incommunicado, solitary confinement, etc. 5. The rights due, if any, are not denied 'jailbird' or detainee. 6. No opportunity will be available for person to commit self-harm or to take his or her own life. 7. Prison or place is not damaged by the inmate in the course of being forcefully held against personal wish or desire. 8. Stay in prison or place lasts for the appropriate duration: no parole or prison escape or ... . 9. Prisoner will be reformed at the end of serving time or some lesson will be learned, on release, by the person restricted or detained. That is, act will achieve objective(s). 10. Normal life can be resumed on completion of time or on being pardoned or released to be free. That is, no psychological or physiological problems occur to person while being held.
