Definition: (of machines, factories, etc.) The state of being not in use.

1. Purposeful and necessary for thing to be at 'rest'.

2. Machine, etc. has or had been maximally used previously. And has/had produced result(s) as it ought to.

3. Item(s) is/are in good serviceable order during period.

4. No real need or necessity to have machines, etc. work. That is, no unplanned loss arises from thing being on a break, ... even if humans have to do what machines, etc. would have done. And during particular period, the machines, factories, etc. cannot be leased out to earn an income for owner(s).

5. Machine, etc. is safe, secured and protected where it is located during rest period. That is, no unplanned expenditure will be incurred on 'unproductive' item during period.

6. Getting machines, etc. to resume production, etc. will not be a problem. That is, no lock, excessive rust, malfunction, etc. will occur, as a result of the rest that item had.

7. Duration that machine, etc. is not in use will be as desired. That is, rest will serve purpose(s). (Connect to #6.)
