| HUMILIATION (1) Definition: The act of making somebody feel ashamed or stupid and to lose the respect of other people. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for who humiliates another. That is, act is deliberately done. 2. Behaviour of person disgraced and made to feel stupid, before being humiliated, was expected to confer an advantage, earn him or her a profit, gain, etc. 3. An opportunity was provided for the person disgraced for wrong, folly or mistake to be corrected, i.e. for the right and proper thing to be done. 4. There is a capacity or capability for who is humiliated to do or to try to do the proper thing (connect to #3). 5. No serious warning or forewarning will be given to the person to be humiliated, before belittling act is done. 6. Happens in the presence of other people (see definition). 7. No chance or opportunity is provided that may help reduce the impact of disgrace or stupidity. And no possibility for person to respond or reply to demeaning act. 8. A lesson is learned, by the person disgraced, from the experience. 9. Person disgraced is not shameless ! Act can and should, therefore, achieve objective(s), whatever this/these is/are.
