| HOWLER (1) Definition: (informal, especially British English) A stupid mistake, especially in what somebody says or writes. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Unprepared for by others. That is, genuinely made. 2. Unexpected to be committed by the particular person. 3. Causes a serious loss, embarrassment, delay, etc., especially to the person who makes mistake. 4. Cannot be explained or excused. And will never be attempted to be justified by the person who committed mistake. 5. (Reserved.) (Person is ordinarily assumed or believed to be above making particular mistake.
