| HOBSON'S CHOICE (1) Definition: A situation in which somebody has no choice because if they do not accept what is offered, they will get nothing. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Alternative or option desired was searched for unsuccessfully. 2. What is on offer is second best (to emphasize, connect to #6). 3. Refusal of what is available will result in a considerable loss. 4. No possibility of an exchange or a swap, after acceptance or collection, exists during period. 5. What will be accepted, will leave a lot still to be desired. That is, thing cannot really be considered a supplement or complement. 6. What is actually preferred, that is not on offer, can be obtained somehow, somewhere, someday. 7. Offer will remain for as long as required, taken or not! That is, no body else will be struggling with person for thing offered. 8.
