| HIPPIE Definition: A person who rejects the way that most people live in Western society, often having long hair, wearing brightly coloured clothes and taking illegal drugs. The hippie movement was most popular in the 1960s. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Person has a reason, or cause, or grouse!, whether this is disclosed to others in society or not (see perfect REJECTION (1).) 2. The society has not 'cast out' this person. That is, person makes decision to live apart or different (see perfect REJECT (2).) 3. Will make no attempt to convince the others to change and adopt his or her own way of life (see perfect LIFESTYLE). 4. Hair and coloured clothes will be ordinarily clean. That is, individual will have a very high level of personal hygiene (see perfect DREADLOCKS). 5. Will not be caught by law enforcement agents taking illegal drugs, then prosecuted and jailed (see perfect GLUE-SNIFFING). 6. Commits no crime or illegality as a result of the drugs taken; timely pays rightly assessed tax, obeys traffic rules and regulations, etc., etc. (see perfect HIGH (4).) 7. Achieves objective(s), whatever this/these is/are, however long he or she remain an 'oddity' (see perfect INDIVIDUALISM (1).) _______________ A-HIPPY ! ... but don't forget the drug's effect on your health. | |
