Definition: (formal) The act of making it more difficult for somebody to do something or for something to happen.

1. Purposeful and necessary for who or what brings about a difficulty or an improbability.

2. Cooperation, alliance, etc., that may be offered will not be accepted in the situation. And no understanding will be shown by who or what is responsible for making thing worse.

3. No illegality or no law is violated while being involved in preventing 'progress' or bringing about an occurrence.

4. Some 'supporting' acts are taken by others desirous of an 'easy passage', be these real effort or damage, struggle or indolence, encouragement or discouragement, etc., to try to make thing less difficult or for thing to, more easily, happen. (Connect to #5.)

5. Complications and arrangements in the way are fixed and not possible to be altered, avoided, dismantled or overcome.

6. The act, and whatever is done lasts for duration considered necessary to help achieve objective(s).

7. Serves purpose(s). That is, nothing strange, especially as would happen in nature, occurs to make act pointless.
