| HERESY (1) Definition: A belief or an opinion that is against the principles of a particular religion; the fact of holding such belief. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. * Not about fact or conviction. 1. Belief or opinion is specific and identifiable. 2. Belief or opinion is not supported indirectly by a particular religious teaching or 'injunction' (connect to #5). 3. Clearly contradicts or sharply contrasts a particular religious tenet or command (connect to #3). 4. Never openly professed, supported or publicly canvassed, even if widely practiced. 5. Sanction, penalty, etc. for holding belief or opinion is clearly stated in the relevant or applicable religious texts/Holy Books. 6.
