| HEART-THROB (1) Definition: (used especially in newspapers) A famous man, usually an actor or a singer, that a lot of women find attractive. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Person (= man) is usually the subject (= 'object') of their dreams, conversation (= gossip), fantasy, etc., especially if an (the) admirer's own man is not so attractive. (Connect to #4, to emphasize.) 2. 'Patronized'. That is, the films he appears or stars in, will be watched, and his songs or records will be listened to and/or bought by the fans (= admirers). And his photograph or autograph will be highly prized. 3. Person cannot be 'fought over' as it will be impossible to secure a relationship with this subject of desire, even as the sexuality cannot be known, for sure, from afar! (To emphasize.) 4. Admiration will be somewhat secretive, not openly admitted, especially when admirer is in a current relationship with someone. 5. Fondness lasts or will be sustained for a desired or appropriate period of time, but only as a long as fame, voice, manliness, etc. is still considered 'top grade'. 6. A desire, by admirer(s), to meet and interact with this person will exists, even if this is unrealizable.
