Definition: (Law) A meeting in a law court when a judge hears the facts of a case.

* All nine elements should be in.


1. Purposeful and necessary to have meeting.

2. All the procedures preceding a session were right.

3. All the parties are present or adequately represented.

4. Commences in good time and concludes at the right time.

5. Conducted openly and justly in accordance with the rules.

6. Proceedings will be recorded appropriately and correctly.

7. The judge has no moral burden or bears no cross. That is, the judge will not have a reason to disqualify himself or herself from presiding. In other words, adjudication should not have been declined.

8. The judge listens all through and fully understands the briefs, submissions, arguments, etc. That is, conducts meeting professionally to the best of his or her ability, whatever the threats or circumstances.

9. The meeting achieves objective(s) or serves purpose(s), whatever this/these is/are, even if a case is dismissed or adjourned sine die.
