Definition: The title of a newspaper article printed in large letters, especially at the top of the front page.

1. Purposeful and necessary.

2. Bold and clear prints, whatever the colour(s).

3. Correct, without a mistake in spelling, tenses, etc.

4. Complete, be it a word, phrase or sentence.

5. Connects with or has relevance to the main body of story.

6. Serves purpose(s). That is, will draw attention to the page and/or newspaper. And title will make some sense! In other words, choice of language is right and meaning can be made from it (to emphasize, connect to #7).

7. Will not bring a problem to management, editor, journalist or columnist (or newsagent!) - no libel suit, boycott of paper or sack of sub-editor, etc., fatwa or an attack or a 'contract', etc.
