| HARROWING OF HELL Definition: The conquest and plundering of hell by Christ (when, after his crucifixion and before his ascension into heaven, 'he descended into hell') to release the souls of the righteous who died before the pre-Christian times. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements are in. 1. Purposeful and thought necessary by the risen Christ. [The souls that are innocent would be free.] [See perfect GIFT (1).] 2. Christ would have been 'dressed' in a fire-resistant body. [Didn't ascend with first-degree burns!] (See perfect GRAVECLOTHES.) 3. Satan wasn't at "RAPELY POSTS", to the pits of hell, at the time. [Jesus couldn't be challenged or tempted.] (See perfect KING OF LOVE.) 4. Christ the Saviour went on the mission as the Trinity. [No angel(s) and/or assistant(s) were used.] (See perfect SENSE OF MISSION.) 5. Christ would have been sad to leave some souls behind. [Man was not created to end up in hell.] (See perfect PEARLY GATES.) 6. Act occurred at earliest possible time, that bright Saturday, and served purpose(s).
