HABIT (1)

Definition: A thing that you do often and almost without thinking, especially something that is hard to stop doing.

1. Purposeful and necessary - the thing, not its repetitiveness.

2. Specific and identifiable, whether done alone or with others.

3. Measurable and/or assessable, good or not-so-good.

4. Realization of the need to think before action always comes after act is done. (To emphasize.)

5. No loss - planned or unplanned - is suffered as a direct result of thing that is regularly done without thinking. That is, thing will not be a sure illegality. In other words, there will be no regret from the repeated happenings.

6. Other persons, if any, around do not complain of what it is you do.

7. Thing is done correctly each time.

8. You gain something from the repetitiousness (connect to #5).

9. A thought about the need for a decision - to stop or continue the particular thing - exists in the situation, whether the decision is taken or not, even as it (= habit) may not, or would not still, be stopped eventually.
