| GUMPTION (1) Definitions: i. (old-fashioned, informal) The intelligence needed to know what to do in a particular situation. ii. (informal) If someone has gumption, they are able to think what it would be sensible to do in a particular situation, and they do it. iii. Sense: shrewdness: common sense. ______________________________________________________________________ * Intelligence and/or sense will be based on: A. The determination or realization that some purpose will be served by acting (= doing) after deciding (= thinking). B. Being in the right frame of mind and with the strength of character required at the point in time. C. Quickness arising from the availability of time and space, to analyze and examine a matter and conclude thinking process. D.
