| GUEST OF HONOUR Definition: If you say that somebody is the guest of honour at a dinner or other social occasion, you mean that they are the most important guest. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for the VIP to be present at event. 2. Selected and invited prior the occasion, not a stand-in or a temp. 3. Briefed by organizers; knows the roles he/she is expected to play. 4. Will arrive on time as planned or arranged, programmed or desired. 5. Won't defy host or seek to monopolize the time and space. That is, performs functions, if any, effectively. In other words, the 'most important' won't end up being a source of distraction, an embarrassment, etc. 6. Will depart from venue of event immediately when presence is no longer required as will be determined by the host or hostess or the organizer(s). 7. Will not silently bear a grudge against the organizer, whatever is on the menu, however he or she is received, introduced, etc. That is, VIP will be happy and free to express a misgiving, if any, afterwards. ______________ HONOURABLE. | |
