Definition: (British English) (disapproving) (only before noun) Behaviour that is very humble to somebody who is more important than you or who can give you something that you want.

3. Done timely or promptly, hopefully, to help achieve objective(s).

4. Dignitary accepts behaviour. That is, humbling acts or actions are seen and tolerated. In other words, no indignity will be suffered in the process of acting in pleading ways.

5. Superiority in level of importance is certain, and/or the capacity of person to give you what you want is possessed by 'big boss'.

6. You are in the normal frame of mind at the time of act - not drunk, forced or coaxed, mentally imbalanced, etc.

7. Act serves purpose(s) or achieves goal(s) - you pay due respects or get what you want, without an unplanned loss.
