| GRIDLOCK (1) Definition: A situation in which there are so many cars in the streets of a town that the traffic cannot move at all. ______________________________________________________________________ * All ten elements would be in. 1. Unplanned, undesired and unprepared for. 2. No alternate route is available in the situation. 3. Cars do not develop serious mechanical problems in the traffic. 4. A loss occurs or losses occur for those caught in or affected directly by 'quagmire'. 5. No road rage arises from the desperation or frustration of drivers. No blaring of horns! And people in or around the streets blocked do not lose their self-control or self-discipline. 6. Cause(s) is/are known, specific and identifiable (connect to #7). 7. Efforts to solve problem are being made at the particular time. 8. Situation lasts for a period considered tolerable. 9. Relevant traffic or city authorities will make attempts after end of situation to prevent a recurrence of the 'madness'. 10.
