Definition: (formal) If you say that someone has gravitas, you mean that you respect them because they seem serious and intelligent.

1. Person's attitude and behaviour towards a contentious issue are excellent - nonchalant, moderate, extreme, etc. - in your opinion.

2. Attitude reflects a willingness to take calculated risk and behaviour includes a readiness to attempt the difficult. That is, person will be seen to be purposeful at all times.

3. Some measure of reciprocal respect is shown to you by this person, even if you do not seem to be as serious or intelligent as him or her.

4. Person's relationship with others will be humane and personable.

5. Consistent consideration will be given to the environment or an ecosystem, and reasonable efforts at maintaining their sustenance will be shown by this sharp, alert and sensible person.

6. Respect will be total and unconditional, based on the verifiable facts that person's reputation (good name), reliability (good sense), and prospects (good will), will not be in doubt.
