Governance
GOVERNANCE

Definition: (technical) The activity of governing a country or controlling a company or an organization; the way in which a country is governed or a company or institution is controlled.

1. Should be purposeful and very necessary. That is, activity is to be taken seriously; not a laughing matter. HAVE A PROGRAM AND A PLAN.

2. Specific and identifiable duties, events, functions, roles, etc. are expected to be the responsibilities of the people in charge - not leading, based on their whims or caprices. KEEP POLITICKING OUT.

3. Measurable and/or assessable - level, extent, measure, etc. of the services provided. And this should be based on or propelled by far-sightedness, not short-termism. BE SELFLESS AND TRUE.

4. Conducted within the limits set by rules and regulations of company/organization, or as determined by the extant laws of country. That is, there will be no unconstitutional, unlawful or immoral act or action by the leader(s). IT'S ABOUT PUBLIC TRUST.

5. Proactive; grasping the seriousness that a situation deserves and confronting the challenges timely and headlong. That is, its dimensions and colouration should be positive and participatory. In other words, it should make some welcome, meaningful impact on the generality of the people of country, company or organization. TAKE THE HARD DECISIONS AND MAKE THE NECESSARY SACRIFICES.

6. Those governing or controlling, bear allegiance to the state/constitution or company/organization, and people or shareholders/members. That is, no corruption, embezzlement, disloyalty, etc. on the part of the leaders/bosses, etc. In other words, there should be ethics in ruling or in leading others or organization. FACE THE TASK; IT'S ABOUT RESPONSIBILITIES.

7. Persons in charge would employ a participatory style and try to achieve the national or group aim(s), as determined by the representatives of the people or as stated in the articles/memorandum of association, etc. CUT DOWN THE COSTS.

8. Those at the political or commercial/administrative head of country or company/organization can justify all the acts, actions or inaction, etc. taken on behalf of the governed/led or the staff/members/shareholders, etc. THINK OF YOUR LEGACY.
