GOODY-TWO-SHOES

Definition: (informal, disapproving) A person who always behaves well, and perhaps has a disapproving attitude to people who do not.

1. Purposeful - the expression of disapproval, when this happens.

2. Person is not compelled by law to behave well.

3. Does not display true colours, (= bad or immoral behaviour) if any, in his or her privacy.

4. Good behaviour is not in anticipation of a reward or commendation.

5. Disapproving attitude, when expressed, is accompanied by suggestion(s), example(s), demonstration(s), as applicable, of the correct and right thing(s) to say or do.

6. Disapproving attitude is displayed and shown at the right time, in the appropriate place and in a polite way. (Connect to #7.)

7. Disapproval is not shown by outright avoidance or complete condemnation. (Connect to #5.)

8. An existing cordial relationship, if any, will not be broken off by the 'goody', if disapproval and suggestions made are disregarded.
