Good-neighbour policy
GOOD-NEIGHBOUR POLICY

Definition: A policy of friendly political and economic relations between countries, especially (American history) that evolved (1933) by F. D. Roosevelt.

* All seven elements should be in.


1. Purposeful and necessary whether it is formalized or not.

2. Official. That is, not based on a specific ruler's whim.

3. Details of its general outline will be disclosed to the neighbour. That is, dos and don'ts exists and are made known and respected by both countries or groups of nations.

4. The neighbour 'liked' would exchange similar details.

5. Execution of policy will extend beyond immediate jurisdictions. That is, working together or cooperation will be taken to the regional, continental, international arena.

6. Activities involved such as exchange of intelligence, prisoners swap, resolving misunderstanding, etc. will be done timely and honestly, in exclusive collaboration.

7. Serves purpose(s), only if full transparency remains.
