| GONER (1) Definition: (informal) A person who is going to die soon or who cannot be saved from a dangerous situation. ______________________________________________________________________ * Any of, or some, or all 7 elements would be in. 1. The vitals are 'gone'. [See perfect DECAY (1).] 2. Legal escape, where applicable, such as a reprieve or stay of execution is nonexistent. (See perfect GROUNDS OF APPEAL.) 3. All probable 'get-out', from death, options have been exhausted. [See perfect CERTAINTY (1).] 4. No accident or freak of nature to delay or cancel imminent passing; no miracle. That is, demise or calamity is inevitable. [See perfect MYSTERY (1).] 5. No chance of a revitalization that gives a new opportunity to live a little much longer. (See perfect RESUSCITATION.) 6. Relations, colleagues, etc. are already planning for life after this person, even if this is not made known to him/her. [See perfect LOSER (2).] 7. Person has come to a full realization that 'time' is very nigh; has stopped trying, praying or wishing to live.
