| GERONTOCRACY (1) Definitions: i. Government by old people. ii. Government by old men. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and considered a necessity, especially by the governed. 2. Oldies didn't get to office through an illegal or a flawed process. 3. Expected and/or presumed to govern with wisdom and understanding. That is, the leaders won't be small children wearing old men's bodies. 4. Fulfils its mandate. That is, will keep the campaign promises and strong enough to serve out its tenure without injecting fresh blood. 5. Old ministers, board members, etc. will have as their assistants, advisers, etc., younger men and women (connect to #6, to emphasize). 6. Methods adopted won't be ancient. That is, the knowledge required to meet modern, current challenges will be available to 'geriatrics'. In other words, country won't be taken backwards as a consequence. 7. Form of government in operation will not be despotism or autocracy or dictatorial, be this in a democracy or diarchy or military regime. 8.
