Army of occupation
ARMY OF OCCUPATION

Definition: Troops assuring the military government of a defeated enemy and the respect of peace terms.

* All six elements should be in.


1. Purposeful and necessary to have force in place (see definition).

2. Its higher echelon would not have been involved in the war. And would also not have directly contributed to drafting surrender terms.

3. Strength will be considered as adequate to help achieve goal(s).

4. Its armaments or firepower will not be ultra lethal, 'ballistic', etc. That is, army will be equipped suitably - no artillery or missiles or helicopter gunships !

5. Troops will respect the natives' cultures and customs, traditions and deities, etc. And their assets, natural environment or ecosystems will not be desecrated, damaged, etc. before their departure.

6. Achieves objective(s) as long as army remains an occupying force, as per the rules of engagement - not rule of law - forget those conventions. And occupation must, in the future, come to an end.
