| GAPE (1) Definition: A mouth that is left open because you are shocked or surprised. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Source or cause of shock or surprise is known; specific and identifiable. 2. Mouth remains open for a period of time considered reasonable, even if shock or surprise is still on. 3. Nothing goes in, while mouth is open. 4. State of mouth does not cause any embarrassment for the person with open mouth, whether immediately or much later, from comments, pictures, etc. 5.
