| FREEZE (1) Definition: The act of keeping wages, prices, etc. at a particular level for a period of time. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for the people involved. 2. Study, research, demand, etc. precedes act (connect to #3). 3. Duration that situation will last is determined before it comes into effect (connect to #7). 4. Appropriate monitoring and evaluation takes place during period. 5. Nothing is done or happens, such as an increase in bonuses, a price war, etc. during period to negate, whittle or dilute the intended effect(s) of policy. 6. Appropriate fine-tuning, adjustment, review, etc. if necessary, is undertaken during period. 7. Situation lasts for duration desired, as determined by fresh or new developments and/or prevailing circumstances (inclusive of an extended freeze period, where necessary). 8.
