FREEDOM OF THE PRESS

Definition: The right to print and publish without government censorship.

2. No difficulty on securing raw materials such as newsprint.

3. No law in place against the release of information to the press.

4. There will not be a D notice by the government of the day.

5. Newsstands and circulation routes will not be raided or blocked.

6. No (mis)use of right, by media, against national security.

7. The authority won't challenge a publication in the court of law.

8. Media won't commit illegalities and/or publish falsehoods.

9. Apology by the media won't be used as a tool while having right.

10. The right enjoyed achieves goal(s) and serves purpose(s).

11. Right is viewed by the press/journalists as their raison d'etre.
