| FREE THROW Definition: (in basketball) An attempt to throw a ball into the basket without any player trying to stop you, that you are allowed after a foul. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful - to comply with the rules. 2. Necessary - to restore an advantage earlier denied. That is, foul was truly committed against the player. 3. Taken by the person fouled (to emphasize, connect to #3). 4. Taken as allowed by the rules - within the lines and with flight of ball being unobstructed. 5. Scores a point.
