Definitions:

i. [ ~ (to something) ] (law) A person who helps somebody to commit a crime or who knows about it and protects the person from the police.

ii. (legal) If someone is guilty of being an accessory to a crime, they helped the person who committed it, or knew it was being committed but did not tell the police.

1. Person has a purpose for helping or being silent. GOOD.

2. Considers it necessary to assist or be taciturn and not expose an offender. That is, helper knows exactly what he or she is doing; knows the implication of his or her involvement and secretiveness. BETTER.

4. Cannot, as of a right, demand the gain accruing, from main criminal. And dare not shout loud for others to hear. [SOB! Bloody!]
