| FOUL-UP Definitions: i. (informal) A problem caused by bad organization or a stupid mistake. ii. (informal) Something that has gone badly wrong as a result of someone's mistakes or carelessness. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Not desired, planned or deliberately designed. 2. No warning or caution given before error would be disregarded. 3. There will be no genuine excuse, justification or rationalization. And the mistake will be quickly admitted - never downplayed and cannot be used as a cover to do any additional wrong. 4. Source or root of lapse, howler, let-down, faux pas, goof, etc. will be known or can be investigated and discovered. 5. Will result in a serious loss, damage, etc. for those connected. 6. Offending person or group will pay for incompetence or inability. 7. The outcome of bad, stupid or careless action teaches a hard lesson, thereafter, to who suffers loss. 8. Damage that will be caused will be irreparable; loss irretrievable. 9. Impact or effect will lead to an action, reaction, overreaction, etc., in spite of and/or in addition to sanction or punishment given to culprit.
