Forced landing
FORCED LANDING

Definition: An act of having to land an aircraft unexpectedly in order to avoid a crash.

* All seven elements would be in.


1. Purposeful (to emphasize).

2. Pilot(s) considers it a necessity to avoid crash (see definition).

3. Indicators of a likelihood of a crash are reliable. That is, instruments are not 'freaky' or epileptic. In other words, the decision to go down is based on sound footing.

4. (Reserved.) (Landing is not on a runway or at an airport. Or if on a runway or an airport, not the desired destination and/or without contact with the control tower.) (To emphasize.)

5. No person, animal, structure, etc. is killed, injured, damaged, etc., on the ground - even if farmland is destroyed!

6. No problem arises for the persons or passengers, if any, on board.

7. Aircraft suffers minor damage and recovery, repairs or restoration is possible for the plane that crash lands.
