Definition: (informal) (idiomatic - play footsie with somebody) To touch somebody's feet lightly with your own feet, especially under a table, as an expression of affection or sexual interest.

1. Purposeful and necessary, in your opinion (see definition).

2. Feet are bare, that is, toes, soles, etc. are not covered with a stock or stocking and are not in a shoe or boot.

3. The feet are very clean - no likelihood of transferring an infection to the other person's feet through contact with yours.

4. 'Play' is not unwelcome or considered offensive - be the other a paramour or one on a first date or total stranger ! That is, touch will not be rebuffed.

5. No injury is suffered by your feet during (mis)adventure, from the table or the other person's 'footwork'.

6. Act is not seen by an unwelcome third party and surface of table is not transparent.

7. 'Move' or touch will not be accompanied with a sound or speech or an above-the-table sign.

8. Feet movement achieves objective(s), as exactly hoped for.
