| FOOT FAULT (1) Definition: (in tennis) A mistake that is made by not keeping behind the line when serving. ______________________________________________________________________ * All five elements should be in. 1. Made on having the chance of the first service. 2. Call is right. That is, no mistake by a line 'judge' or the umpire. 3. Call is not contested, by the offender, to such an extent that it will destabilize or upset him/her or the opponent! 4. Mistake is not the result of a sudden medical or physiological challenge such as a twitch, slip, jerk, etc. 5.
