| FLATNESS (6) Definition: (of voice) The state of not showing too much emotion; not changing much in tone. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for speaker/talker to be restrained in his or her voice pitch. 2. State is deliberately arrived at. That is, pitch can be reduced or increased, if necessary. 3. Duration of flat voice is for period desired or planned. 4. (Reserved.) (State is not the outcome of an overshadowing by the playing of a musical instrument.) 5. No unplanned loss or negative response arises from state. That is, no emotion or serious change is expected to be expressed in the situation.
