| FIRST WORLD Definition: The rich industrial countries of the world. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Riches are not obtained from or through impoverishing the poorer countries, by way of exploitation, people smuggling, etc. 2. Industrial processes are in accordance with best practices. 3. Industrial wastes or negative by-products are appropriately treated - recycled, destroyed, etc. - not shipped or sent to the poorer nations. 4. Order and good governance reign in the selected countries, whatever type of governments they have in place. That is, their societies, military strengths, etc. are secured by the judicious application of their resources. 5. Invests in continuous research (education!), research and development (education!!) and space exploration (education!!). 6. Collaborates and cooperates with, and supports, other countries, especially the poorer ones (= those of the third world). 7. Not indebted to poorer countries or not having unfavourable balance of trade positions with them. And where indebted, so-called rich countries are servicing their debts regularly, either to financial institutions or global organizations. 8.
