| FIRING (2) Definition: (especially North American English) The action of forcing somebody to leave their job. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eleven elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for who or what is forcing another, even if the reason(s) is/are not disclosed. 2. Person being forced was planning to leave the job someday, but at a later date. 3. Business or company or employer still has an important need for labour. (Connect to #8.) 4. The limits of frustration, threat, intimidation, denial of rights or privileges, etc. has been reached by the person being forced. That is, person can no more bear situation in work environment. 5. Person being forced to leave did not commit any offense. Or due process for dealing with misdemeanour was not observed by the authority or person(s) exercising force (connect to #4). 6. No recourse to a court, an industrial tribunal or arbitration panel, etc. is possible in the situation. 7. All the entitlements due to departing worker are or will be given, to him or her, fully and timely. 8. A replacement or an extra will be employed or engaged, even if temporarily, for the worker forced out. 9. Person forced out will not, in any circumstance, be apologized to or recalled to be 'rehabilitated' in the future (to emphasize, connect to #10). 10.
