| FIRE ESCAPE Definition: Metal stairs or a ladder on the outside of a building, which people can use to escape from a fire. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary. 2. Strong and solid; well-built. 3. Building has directions, diagrams, etc. to its location/position. 4. Not inaccessible when the time fire starts. That is, lock is not place at entrance to stairs or ladder. 5. Not blocked or in a state of disuse and therefore impassable. 6. Leads a reasonable distance away from the particular structure or building, on 'landing'. 7.
