| FILING (1) Definition: The act of putting documents, letters, etc. into a file. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements should be in. 1. Purposeful (to emphasize). 2. Considered a necessity to arrange into a file. 3. What is put inside file is the right thing. 4. File that things are put in is the correct one. 5. Things are put inside in the proper format or form in respect of right page, placement, position, etc. 6. What goes in is treated properly, as due, before it is put in - whether stapled or folded, flagged, numbered, copied, etc. 7. Act is approved and done by the authorized person, who is not expected to alter or tamper with, or misuse the items or the information being put or contained in a file. 8. Documents, letters, etc. are secured and stay in place for period of time desired. 9. Act serves purpose(s).
