| FIG LEAF (2) Definition: A thing that is used to hide an embarrassing fact or situation. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful to use particular thing. 2. Considered a necessity to hide embarrassment, etc. 3. Will not be exposed to a thorough examination or scrutiny, by who might be desirous of finding faults or errors. And not susceptible to inadvertently revealing what is desired to be hidden. 4. Extent, impact, spread, etc. will be adequate to ensure full cover or coverage, covering or camouflage. 5. Guaranteed or assured to be in place for the duration desired. 6. Has a capability to attract and/or ensure attention on its own, such that focus by the inquisitive person or party will not go near what is being hidden 'underneath' (to emphasize). That is, thing will be an effective distraction or 'diversion'. 7. Brings about or causes no new embarrassment on or of its own. That is, will serve sole purpose fully, as exactly planned or hoped for. 8. Its purpose or aim, use or usage, will not be disclosed to another person or party who does not need to know.
