(Literary) A fastness is a place which is considered safe because it is difficult to reach or easy to defend against attack. iii. Purposeful and necessary to be in, or to try to reach, the place. 2. Its location will be known to all, just hard to reach and/or attack. 3. Manoeuvrability in the place will be easy for its occupant(s). 4. Consideration would have taken care of the elements of nature. 5. The ambience of place will be conducive for as long as desired. 6.
