| FAIRNESS DOCTRINE Definition: (broadcasting) Principle and practice of allowing equal airtime to opposing candidates with differing viewpoints on controversial issues. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eleven elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and believed necessary. 2. Timings will be as agreed by all the parties. 3. Production will be consistent during broadcasts. 4. Security will be assured if the 'foes' are all present. 5. Controversy was not brought about by any of the contenders. 6. Time allowed will be considered as adequate to express their individual and/or respective viewpoint(s). 7. Arrangement achieves objective(s), for each party involved. 8. Expressions make the controversy to be better understood. 9. There will be no requirement to choose a 'winner'. 10.
